Designer of contemporary furniture, Gabriel Charbit studied in Paris at Ecole Boulle and ENSCI (French national institute for advanced studies in industrial design), following a degree in engineering. Gabriel Charbit observes the worlds that surround him. Forms emerge from his observations and give rise to a renewed curiosity. He seeks to decontextualize a work by transposing it into another. Landscapes, cultures and customs, peoples character and behavior, games fascinate him. This collection “Skyline” suggests a walk in Manhattan; where furniture become buildings. The skyscrapers of New York are on the horizon of his inspiration. In the foreground we will find the materials and functions he has chosen, creating in wood or metal, a range of furniture: desk, console, sconces, table…

Gabriel Charbit Editions is a furniture edition company whose interpretations and uses are free. The creations intrigue and trigger exchanges, they invite us to divert the object from its primary function by appropriating it.
