Green Acid Etched Glass, also called Frosted Green Glass, is the glass that has been chemically etched using acid. The primary purpose of chemical etching is to allow a certain amount of sunlight or artificial light to pass through while remaining visualy opaque.
The most that can be seen through this glass are the faint shadows of people and objects, even with very bright lighting. Green Acid Etched Glass is ideal for use as a window panes, doors, glass shower enclosures and partitions, inserts in wooden and metal doors, glass floors, backsplashes, and illuminated ceilings, among other applications.

Green Acid Etched Glass can be processed in all the same ways as regular float glass, including cutting, laminated glass, and more. It can be tempered and laminated, what significantly expanding its range of applications. The glass remains visually unchanged over the time, as the frosted effect is achieved by deforming the material's surface rather than by applying a coating that can wear out over time.
Many people consider the “soiling” of glass to be a major drawback – its ability to leave fingerprints, as well as stains of dirt, limescale and other substances. The matte surface of Green Acid Etched Glass is virtually free of such defects and is valued for its ease of cleaning, which does not require the use of abrasive particles, and sometimes even special cleaning agents.
